Merrell falsely accused me of fraud because of their error and banned me from ordering from them

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I ordered a pair of shoes and it was the wrong color by mistake so Merrell told me to cancel the order and reorder again which I did. I got the shoes and it was no problem. 2 months later I went to order another pair of shoes but I got a cancellation email less than 24 hours later saying the shoes were out of stock. The website said it wasnt true so I called. It turns out they had flagged my account for fraud because of the issue with the shoes 2 months before and and I can no longer order from them. They refused to fix the issue.

Changed in warranty policy

Merrell - Changed in warranty policy

Ive been buying ONLY Merrells for about 20 years and up until recently, have had nothing but praise. In the past, they honored their lifetime warranty without question and I have received several replacements due to various problems.

I currently have about 8 pairs of Merrells in various styles and a month ago I dusted off a new pair that I had forgotten about for maybe 7 years.

Never worn, I took them to a trekking vacation in Peru and on the first day of wearing them, the soles separated from the shoe and were not wearable. Luckily, there was a Merrell store in Cusco and I bought replacements for the 5 day hike. When I returned home, I contacted their warranty replacement department and were told there is now only a 1 year warranty on defective items!

But I bought these shoes when the company was offering a lifetime warranty. I explained that to them and according to my research, they are supposed to stand by the warranty that was offered at the time of purchase but all they tell me is that they now only offer a 1 year warranty.

Its sad because I will no longer be loyal to Merrell.

Resolved: Stolen money from my credit card

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They’re not very together in this company you know the old Merrell quality is gone so is their customer support.

Original review Jan 18, 2024
I bought a pair of boots last week paid in full, arriving today. 1.24 am Merrell updated my payment from 146.38 to 292.76 then 439.14, called explained that's very illegal & refunding me electronically 5 to 7 days later is very unacceptable seeing it didn't take them 1 whole minute to steal my money without my consent it could have simply been sent overnight as a money order or anything to avoid stealing my money for 7 days for a supposed computer glitch, oddly that glitch seams allot like corporate loan sharking! Illegal is illegal BMW or Chevette Merrell, I tried very hard to do this nicely and fairly but after being fed a line of bs by my service rep,we'll do it the way they want.

However I do appreciate Stephanie my rep I understand fully her supervisor had her feed me that story about their being no humanly way possible to just give me my money back no harm no foul which if you have ever worked for any company past mom n pops dinner every company especially huge ones like Merrell ABSOLUTELY HAVE A WAY TO REIMBURSE YOU IMMEDIATELY, again the company should stand out here. Instead Stephanie did try after the call and got the boots refunded unfortunately however nice that was it doesn't change the money lost on fees I will be paying fees for the money I never authorized them to take.

No consumer should suffer for trusting a company, I work for a Fortune 500 company I know exactly what extent they can go to if they want to, but in this case they didn't so buy at your own discretion. Me personally I will never again and even if I did I'd pay an extra 5 bucks for a prepaid card they can't steal from! Healthy advice for people not pushing that BMW that will never hear about your problems or loss!!!!

Haha wow didn't see their review s at the bottom of this till now, yeah nope pretty sure that once in a lifetime glitch happens very often I was the second person as of yesterday morning. Amazing the laws you get to break when you have expensive lawyer s!

I Epoxy glued the bottoms back a few days ago hadn't wore them yet. Far as resolving any issue.

I'm not interested in doing so it'll be a reminder why I'll never purchase anymore Merrells.I'm fed with the issue that seems will never change. Their loss another ones...

Wore out shoes in 2.5years Merrell shoes use to last longer than that. Especially hiking shoes.

And I don't hike! Retired don't work and still manage to wear a pair of Merrells out doing nothing. But it don't really matter. Since the letter Merrell sent out months ago.

The one saying Merrell shoe co. was going WOKE. I decided then all the purchases and years. If I wasn't no more important than that.

Just like Bud light, Target, Ford and Merrell shoes. Your shoe quality like the respect for All your customers, has little quality !

I fully agree. Merrell quality used to be the best.

I have purchased the same pair of Merrell, waterproof shoes in the past 3 years. With the older pair, within a year the right shoe separated around the big toe area. The same thing happened to the second pair, same right shoe, same spot.

It appears the manufacture is using as little material as possible and the product is definitely not worth the price. Peace

HORRIBLE BOOTS!!!, in fact, Merrell, don't call them boots, call them hikers, NOTHING MORE. My first pair were okay, and I purchased those as hiker, this pair, well, I will never buy Merrells again!!

The 2 women working in this store at 11:00am on 11/13/23 were the absolute worse. I went in to return a pair of shoes and they did not know how to do a return/refund. I walked in and they were like what am I suppose to do this? My receipt was on my phone but they said they could do the return with out the paper receipt. I drove over an hour to get there and received the worse customer service. I will wait until the manager comes there to go back to return the shoes. I will not buy another item from this store

I have yet to speak to a living soul about a product, replacement insoles for Women s Encore Breeze at the Custoner service line no matter how long I wait, as I usually dont have an hour and a half to sit before I reach anyone. Unfortunately the innards of the encore breeze fail long before the structural integrity of the Merrill slipons wear out. As a Merrill fan for well over 25 years, the quality, durability and longevity has Lost quality and for that matter for me, sustainability

Poor quality bed costumor support

Bought a pair of Merrell Ladies hiking shoes. Could not wear them initially as ended up with ingrown toenail.

When took out wore them three times before the heel feel off while walking.

Took them back to Merrell store and was told they are old line, even though obvious they had only been worn a few times. This was a faulty product I would have been happy if they repaired them but I got the "so sad too bad" I would have thought a company who charges what it does and states high quality would be interested in shoes that last less then a $10 Kmart brand - but totally not interested in what was clearly a manufacturer error and had no intention of doing anything about selling them.

Sole-less Merrell(s)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Sole-less Merrell(s)

I took my son out for a week-long backpacking trip. I gave him a pair of unused Merrell shoes (Mesa Ventilator II) that I had purchased for myself several years ago but had never worn.

By day #2, of the hike, the sole had completely fallen off of one of the shoes. Day #3 claimed the other sole. Fortunately, we had brought some duct tape - which was used to temporarily fasten the soles and return to the trailhead. A call into Merrell non-customer service resulted in me being blamed for not wearing the shoe in a timely manner, to prevent what the representative called, hydrolysis.

She said that since it has been over a year since I purchased the shoe, Merrell has a strict policy not to replace the shoes (despite Merrells telephonic introductory deceptive message stating, We stand behind our products.). She offered absolutely nothing in the form of compensation.

User's recommendation: Buy Merrell shoes if you plan to hike barefoot, have lots of duct tape, and/or look forward to receiving no customer service

To whom can I speak about sponsorship

We are a South African family living in Turkey. We moved to Turkey to do missionary work among people that have not hear the Gospel in the past. We work between Turkish, Iranian, Kurdish and Syrian people. Due to what we do we work sometimes in extreme and harsh conditions. We pledge any type of sponsorship from your company. Before we left South Africa we bought a lot of clothes and shoes that we are still using, but needless to say, we need to replace at times. We ask if you can support us in any way??
